Enjoy a live musical performace by Azul Barrientos from 12:001:00 p.m in the River Pavillion. Commerce St, San Antonio, Tx 78205 Dia de los Muertos takes place on October 30-31, 2021. San Antonio artist explains how to create a personal Da de los Muertos altar. The exhibit culminates in our grand gallery which has 13 detailed ofrendas, or altars, dedicated to different individuals and a Mexico Experience video which shows sites and sounds of Mexico beyond Dia de Muertos.Īll segments of the video presentations last up to 40 mins but you can skip any of them, as this is a self-tour, or stay if you missed one. Día de los Muertos at Children’s Museum Houston Saturday, November 6 The Museum District spot transforms into a colorful Land of the Dead, with mariachi, sugar skulls and marigold garlands, a performance from Intempo Dance Ensemble, an artist workshop, and a CoCo -inspired Day of the Dead celebration. The permanent exhibit is an immersive sensory experience, complete with pre-Columbian music and light effects, that take visitors on a journey through the tradition's intricate history through several rooms. New for 2021 is a food festival in La Villita’s Juarez Plaza. We take immense pride in showcasing our unique art collection which includes handmade art pieces from renowned master artists in Mexico and art pieces that are no longer in production. Those looking to celebrate at home can pick up special maker kits created by local artists a DIY catrina collage by Regina Moya or DIY skull piñatas by Manola & Maria and Lua Bash from Feliz Modern POP, and enjoy a Pan de Muerto offered by Hotel Emma. Dia de Muertos is one of the few Mexican traditions that goes deep into Mexico's soul and history, so we decide to showcase it to fully explain Mexico as a country, its art, and people.
We wanted to share our experiences and unique art to all of San Antonio and the World with a Dia De Los Muertos twist. It is very busy and festive, and great fun. Adults (including tourists) hand out candy. The Museum is the culmination of our company’s work and service for the past 30+ years. Halloween has been adopted for children in San Miguel de Allende - the kids costume up on the evening of October 31st and congregate in the Jardin.
The Museum is conveniently located inside Fiesta At North Star® building on the east wing of the second level (elevator accessible).
